Spring Break Sketchbook Camp

We love sketchbooks at art camp! This 5-day camp is a unique opportunity to take a deep dive into sketchbooking. We'll teach your young artist how to make the most of this important tool -- both at camp and at home.

There's a lot more to sketcbooking than just sketching with pencil (although that's part of it, too!) We'll experiment with color, subject, and mark-making, use loads of different media, and devlop the artist's eye for proportion, perspective, composition, balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, and pattern. More than anywhere else, the sketchbook is where your young artist develops their individual style.

Bull Run Mountain Art Camp is a unique and nurturing environment where we focus on the creative expression of every child. A typical day at camp will include both indoor and outdoor art-making. We'll work in my tiny-house art studio, and we'll take short walks on the mountain to visit various locations for inspiration. Your camper will be surrounded by trees, birds, and the big blue sky as we soak in the sights and sounds of nature.

At the end of camp, your child will have a sketchbook stuffed with creativity; a treasured time capsule and a roadmap for future artistic exploration.
